During World War II, Rudolf Hess risked his life to reach Britain and initiate peace talks. He was branded insane and locked away for the rest of his days. In this part of the Asylum we keep inmates who will never be released. The people shut away in this extra-high security ward are deemed to be so obnoxious, dangerous or embarrassing that they have been removed from Society on a permanent basis. Apart from the padded cell set aside for folk-singers and beat-poets, there is no grimmer place in this Institution. You are requested not to talk to the inmates listed below as reminders of life in the outside world tend to upset them. |
